What is the most dangerous watersport?

Postby Shine_Spirit » Sun Feb 12, 2017 7:11 am

Overall, I think most watersports are very dangerous (even something simple, like swimming for example). But the ones that I think are more dangerous are those that are practiced in the open sea. Within that category I think diving is the potentially most dangerous by the "simple" fact that the human being doesn't know everything that exists in the depths of the seas.

There is still so much to be discovered, that I wonder if we, human beings, will ever be able to catalog everything.

I also think all water sports are dangerous as one can drown doing any water activity if not careful. I think that surfing is very dangerous especially when huge waves hit and if one doesn't know how to stay in control a tragedy can happen. I also think that river rafting is quite dangerous especially in the very rocky areas. Of course like you mentioned diving is also on my top water sports that are dangerous as one never knows what could be found in the depths of the sea.

I think that surfing is one of the most dangerous watersports since you never know what you'll hit at the bottom of the ocean when the wave wipes you out under it. Coral is dangerous. If you manage to hit your head on some, that could be the end of you because you'll be traveling at high speeds and it isn't common at all to wear safety helmets. Come to think of it, all you have are thin swim suits. Nothing to protect you. All that aside from any dangerous ocean creatures.

I think scuba diving is one of dangerous water sport. If the ascent from a dive is too fast, it can cause decompression illnesses, which include bends, and can cause spinal cord, brain and lung failure. There is also the fear of being attacked by stray sharks or other underwater creatures.

It's not quite easy to say straight away which is actually the most dangerous water sport game. With that said, one particular water sport game I did understand would probably be the most dangerous is Scuba. I think the main challenge here is breathing apparatus
