I have been to a vareity of camping trips, from camping resorts to real wilderness where there were no people nearby. There were several instances when I couldn't sleep because the place looks scary and I was not comfortable with the night sound. In those cases, what I do is to light a camp fire and stay there until morning. But usually when I do that, I would company since I was not the only one who couldn't sleep.

Well, if I need to camp alone I would avoid that trip as my first concern would be safety. What if something bad happens when I am alone. So, I have never camped alone and I always go along with my friend. When we have one more person with us, we will sleep peacefully with the assurance that there is someone there to back us when there is a problem. The same goes for the another person.

That is why I would never go camping alone. Even when I am at home I have those fears when I hear something strange so you can imagine how scared I would be at a camp. Having a big group of people is essential to have each others help incase anything happens. My couson has a lantern that she would light up so she can get to sleep and so that also helps everyone else.

It's not that I become that scare at night if i camp alone especially as an advanced adult. The thing is the thrill and fun of camping is lost if I am all alone by myself. One do not envisage for dangers anyway and for that reason it's not advisable to be alone you should be at least two in number especially at night.

I feel you, it does get scary at times. I too have experienced fear during camping back when I was in my early teens. Over time, I've learned of cool survival kits and tactical blades, and I brought them with me from then on. It helps me be courageous, and fearless just like how a first time skateboarder would feel more safer with his helmet on. Aside from that, me and my friends usually end the night with a good laugh so that nobody would have to think about scary things in the dark.

Night sounds always make me uneasy. I always face difficulty in sleeping at a new place with new surroundings. On top of that if I hear abnormal sounds which I cannot recognize it is for sure that I'm going to have a sleepless night.

Ha ha.. yes those nights are always scary. Specially when we are in the jungle area, as we can hear too many unknown noise at that time. So even we used to do camp fires at that time so that we can have safe night on such places. Or we just used to wakeup for whole night and have talk with each other.

I don't think that going on camping trips alone is advisable. It's always a good idea to have someone else there just in case something happens and one of you can get help. I've always found that when it comes to camping, it's always way more fun when you're a group of people rather than just a couple and that's how I prefer it.

I think some places can be scary we never really know. And the reason is not something supernatural. But there are some people out there who are out for robbery and other crimes. So it can be scary at night. I know that there are many roads that can be not safe to stop by. The deserted areas near those roads can be even more unsafe.
