Avoiding risky places

Postby Alexandoy » Sun Jun 11, 2017 11:37 pm

Have you identified risky places where you go trekking? When we were down south of our country, we were warned about the rebels in the mountains. That we should not climb or trek by ourselves for we might be victims of kidnapping for ransom. That's one dangerous place. Another is the mountain where there were deaths due to accident. And although the accidents usually happens during the rainy season, it is best to avoid it all the time.

I usually avoid places I know where there is not much signage and places with very steep relief.

I always prefer places well signposted and with flat relief to avoid unpleasant surprises. But of course I've ventured into places like that once in a while - which is why I think the way I think nowadays - because a little extra adrenaline always does well at times, right?

I always avoid dangerous trails or places that are too steep. I am one of those people who are always freaking out about everything so I like planning ahead and making sure that where I go it's always safe and that it won't be a rainy day. I have taken this precausion since I had a very scary experience when I was a little girl and my sibling who was just a toddler slid down a hill.

I am all for adventure, but for me safety will always come first. I love having new experiences and going to places that are 'off the beaten path' so to speak, but if there is any risk of danger like the rebels in the mountains I definitely would not go. Other than that, the normal risks associated with this kind of activity, I can manage.
