When the road is not good

Postby Alexandoy » Thu May 25, 2017 12:07 pm

We are usually invited for a road trip by my brother-in-law, as short as 2 hours and as long as 10 hours. But sometimes I decline to go because of the bad roads. Most rural areas here have no good roads to speak of and that is a turn off for a road tripper. I am caring for my car so much that I don't want to abuse it by passing thru gravel or dirt roads much more in muddy roads. I only go to road trips on good roads.

Good roads are loved by one and every traveller. Bad roads do damage to mind, body as well as the car. Even here in my city and other nearby places the roads are in a real bad state. On top if that if you plan a road trip during rainy season you are sure to end up in a big trouble. Clogged water everywhere will make driving a real mess.

When the road really isn't good, I also prefer to give up and not go. But if the road is at an acceptable level I still like to risk going because I like the adventure that it can provide me.

Don't get me wrong (I'm not crazy... Just to make it clear, ok?! ), but I think those types of roads can be kinda fun and very interesting sometimes.

I also think a bad road is not worth going through as they are damaging and dangerous. I would decline to prevent any accidents and any damage to the vehicle and our own selves. I have aways declined on such invitations and ask to go somewhere else. Some say I exaggerate but I think that we can never be too careful.

Here to at rural areas we were having bad roads. But things has been improved lot lately. Now roads are really good, specially highways. They have been improved lot. So I won't mind having long road trips too. As roads as been improved now we can travel faster and with all comfort.

I've always been cautious during rainy seasons.. I don't risk driving while the mud is still around. I'm sure almost everyone hate it when the road is muddy or rough while on a trip, it hinders lots of things..not to mention it affects one not to reach the trip's destination. So, I'm always prepared for such before I get out for a road trip. Be it an umbrella, camera, note pad, -even the little things matters! Never forget personal water-bottle if need be.

Sometimes driving on bad roads makes my girlfriend stare at me twice, as if am poor at driving. However, that isn't the case. Bad roads are very frustrating and sometimes kills the joy of the trip. The pain gets worse if the car beaks down or gets a flat tire along the trip due to the bad nature of the road. So most times, I don't ply on bad roads. If it's rained, then I got to wait till the road dries up.

Driving can sometimes just add that extra little frustration to a trip, if things go that way, and for me it seems like they often do. I would much rather avoid this if at all possible, but of course things are not that easy.

I think depends on how bad the roads are in country side. I think for many states often the issue is with the wearing out of the tires in such roads. And it can be often harder to replace the puncture if they may happen. Also flat tire and lack of tools and alternative can be bad too. Many roads at night may not have the hotels nearby. It just adds up in the frustration. If the roads are good. And if the help is easily available, I don't think there is much of an issue.
