Some planning is good and better then no planning. Even I prefer sorting out the rough details before stepping out of the house. I agree that everything cannot get planned prior hand but still sketching a rough outline is always good.
I've known of people that forgot to put gasoline in their car tank and got stuck in the middle of the Nevada desert on their way to Las Vegas. They had to wait 2 hours for someone to pick them up. Now imagine the heat they had to withstand with the little supplies they took.
This is so shocking and weird. I mean checking the gasoline in car is the prime need for travel . But I don't blame anyone. Sometimes the mental state is such that we all act in this manner and forget even the basic requirements. Such situations are the reason why I don't like unplanned trips. Getting stuck up in a condition like this is something I cannot tolerate.
The thing is they were already on the road so they just decided to keep going and I guess from all the excitement of being with each other, they forgot to check the gasoline level. When in a group, people tend to ignore common sense to impress their friends. Now, as many can tell, that isn't a good idea.
