Traffic due to accident
Traffic due to accident
Going on a road trip is very relaxing when the highway is not crowded. But over here, there is no guarantee particularly when there is an accident on the road. It will create a heavy traffic. We had experienced being held up in traffic for more than 4 hours on the highway and it's really a frustrating experience.

That's why it's always good to have tasty snacks and drinks that will be able to last you for a few hours. Whenever I'm bored, I have a snack and while I'm eating, time goes by fairly quickly.
I recommend not taking a long road trip unless you have an AC and especially if you have kids. They'll be suffering the heat too.

I have not experience more of it, but I have experienced it once in the past. It was over night driving journey and there was heavy traffic on the highway. After getting information we came to know that there was accident happened few km ahead. We have to spend whole night on the highway to clear that traffic.

I have experienced this kind of situation but not for 4 hours and all. During the last road trip, we saw two accidents which were major ones where a bus and a car collided head to head. It took nearly an hour to clear the traffic in the highway. The accidental area was gruesome and we were all terrified.
Re: Traffic due to accident
I haven't experienced this during a road trip just yet but unfortunately had to go through it when I was in my way to work one day, you can imagine how stressed I was. Too bad I was on a highway and the exit was a bit too far but good thing my boss understood. If I were going on a road trip I would take my Ipod and at least water to pass the time if not fully prepared. The longest I had to wait for traffic caused by an accident was 2 hours and it was the worste experiene on the road I had.
Re: Traffic due to accident
I traveled, the journey was supposed to last three and half hours but ended up 10 hours virtually taking my whole day since I set out for the journey in the morning around six. What happened, having gone about 100km there was traffic jam we were curios what's happening ahead until after a while the ugly news filtered down two heavy duty vehicles had a serious side collision and blocking part of the road. This lead to a huge traffic build up. It's like one of the vehicles was trying to make an overtake.

Re: Traffic due to accident
If there is one thing in this world that I hate when I think of driving for a long time this "thing" is called traffic.
I think there are not enough words in the grammar that can express how much I don't like traffics.
I already got to stay almost 3 hours in a traffic jam (one of the most boring days of my life
). They are so annoying and always leave me with a headache.

We should expect all kind of unpleasant events during a road trip so we should not be getting bored or worried. I always keep some portable games and some snacks with me to enjoy if there is a lot of traffic on a road trip. In this way, I don't get bored and I can consume my time in positive activity.

Last week we experienced being held up in traffic in the highway for 1 hour. It was really a horrendous traffic which was caused by a cargo truck that fell on its side. The cargo was gravel which was scattered so there was no more lane available. It was a nasty traffic that I was cursing.

This is really one of the last things that I would want to have to deal with if I was on the tail end of a trip of some sort and in a foreign place, but it is something that you need to plan for anywhere you go these days. Haven't had it yet but always looking out.
