My cousins went on the so called cross-country in the northern part of the Philippines. They traveled 5 to 8 hours each day and stayed in hotels or inns. They reserve the daytime for roaming the place so they travel at night with alternate drivers. There were 3 cars in their convoy. I would have gone if that was only for 3 days but a week of road trip is too much for me.

One of my cousin went for such bike trip to leh and ladakh. They were having one spare driver and one car with them for providing all the stuff. They have completed many KMs in many days. I wonder how they do that, I mean I am surely not that comfortable for this much long drive. They are doing really good.

My college friends went on a road trip to Sikkim. They were posting photos of their trip on Facebook constantly making us feel jealous. Just joking. They said they had a wonderful time and learned a lot through this trip. They said it was quite an experience.

I haven't done that myself but I have a friend who loves traveling and sharing her experience with her loved ones. She went on a road trip through Northern California as she wanted to go to San Francisco but decided to take a few more days to travel further and explore. She took about two weeks and stayed in 5 different hotels, one of her goals is met.

The idea is really cool and the planning looks great (especially in the matter of saving good money... it's always a good idea, right? )... But this kind of trip is not my kind of thing. I really don't like the idea of ​​having to travel in convoys (basically I don't feel so comfortable).

In my view that's too long a time to be devoted to just road trip only. If I embark on such an activity after three days I should be tired and want to stop. This will be highly demanding financially paying to pass nights in hotels and inns. It'll be a great experience anyway if one can successfully go on such a venture.
