I don't know whether my bus travel qualifies for this thread but once I have traveled almost 1000 km in 24 hours duration although the entire journey was longer than that. In fact, I did not get reservation by any train from Hyderabad to New Delhi due to heavy rush so I decided to travel all the way to Delhi by road transport. I took three different buses and traveled all the way to Delhi by bus and traveled almost 1000 kilometers via Nagpur, Bhopal and Allahabad on my way to Delhi.

Without any stress I maybe comfortable with travelling for not than two hours cummulatively a day. The fact, some days I drive for longer hours and at other times I may not even drive a day or just cover distances not more than 15km. I igured out whenever I drive for two or three hours I am able to cover distances between 200 and 300 kilometers which I think is moderate

If it is specifically related to driving a car, I don't mind driving 3-4 hours at a stretch but that will hardly cover a distance of 200-250 km on our kind of roads if we are not on highways. I had been in marketing job with a good practice of traveling by every possible mode of transportation including cars and I have covered 400-500 km in a day although that is kind of tiring due to bad roads and heavy unruly traffic conditions.

Travelling such a long distance by bus and that too in a single day must have turned out to be really tiring. For a person like me who badly suffers from motion sickness travelling by bus is no less than a nightmare ever. It was a great effort on your part to even think of doing so.

What was the condition of the connecting national highway? I'm pretty aware of the bad conditions of the road here in India so I'm asking this. Bad roads can even worsen the situation manifolds.

I know that was too tiring since that entire journey was by ordinary bus (no AC and no push back type seats) but it was during Holi festival when all the trains were over crowded. There was no flight available for next three days so I took a chance and kept changing long root buses from Hyderabad to Nagpur, next from Bhopal, Jhansi and finally at Allahabad. The entire journey which was almost 2000 km took more than 2 days.
